Mission Statement
It is the mission of Lunaria Gallery to promote high quality works of art from diverse media, to encourage both established and emerging artists to reach new heights of artistic expression and to expand community awareness through the sales and promotion of art and fine crafts.
Consignment Artist Benefits
- 60/40 Sales commission (60% to the artist)
- A venue to display and sell your art in an ideal location where we receive customers from all over the wider community as well as those traveling from nearby states.
- Consignment artists have the opportunity to associate with the public as well as the other artists on the “First Friday” reception each month from 7-9pm as we hold an opportunity for the community to see the newly displayed art and meet the artists at the gallery (not an obligation).
Consignment Artist Responsibilities
• Replace art when needed.
• Rotate art occasionally if art has not sold (about every three months). Consignment artist are aware that they may be asked to remove their work due to lack of sales or for any other reason at any time.
• Consignment artists typically have between 5-10 items in the gallery at a time depending on the size of the art work. The gallery reserves the right to reject any work for any reason.
Consignment Artist Details
The unique qualities of our member’s and consigner’s artworks have a significant impact and influence on other members, the gallery and the wider community. Lunaria Gallery is located in historic downtown Silverton, a dynamic and interesting town, which actively supports the arts.
Visitors to Lunaria Gallery come from all parts of the country. Many are in the area visiting nearby Silver Falls State Park and The Oregon Garden, two popular local tourist destinations. Many enjoy the opportunity to personally interact with our gallery artists.
Application Process
Lunaria Gallery generally does not bringing in 2-D consignment art because we need the wall space for our members. For consignment we concentrate on artist who who create 3-D art that can be displayed in ways other than hanging on the wall. If you are a 2-D artist, you may wish to apply for membership.
To apply as a consignment artist, an artist should follow the following steps:
- Submit – Consignment Artist’s Application Form – artists must fill out an Application for Consignment form. This form (electronic format) is located on the Lunaria Gallery website; select the APPLY link for full application details.
- Submit – Digital Examples of the Artist’s Artworks – consignment artist applicants must also submit a minimum of 6 high-resolution digital jpeg images of more recent artworks, examples that represent the types of works that the artist would like to exhibit if selected as a member of Lunaria Gallery.
- Notification of Decision – once reviewed, an applicant will be informed of the decision of the consignment artist coordinator regarding their application in a timely manner. Newly accepted consignment artists will set up a time to meet in the gallery with the consignment artist coordinator to go over the contract and make sure your art is received properly.
New consignment art is displayed by the display team each month on the Monday and/or Tuesday before the first Friday of the month.
