Application Process

Due to exhibition space limitations, Lunaria Gallery has a limited number of memberships. When an opening occurs we review the membership applications that we have received to determine which applicant(s) might best contribute to our artist’s community and the gallery’s overall sales needs. To apply for membership consideration, an artist should follow the following steps:

  1. Submit – Artist’s Application Form – artists must fill out an Application for Membership form. This form (electronic format) is located on the Lunaria Gallery website; select the APPLY link for full application details.

This form requires that the applicant answer questions regarding their prior artist experience, to include exhibitions, prior gallery affiliations if any, special skills that might be of value to the gallery, other professional involvements and goals, etc.

  1. Submit – Digital Examples of the Artist’s Artworks – gallery membership applicants must also submit a minimum of 6 high-resolution digital jpeg images of more recent artworks, examples that represent the types of works that the artist would like to exhibit if selected as a member of Lunaria Gallery.
  2. Await – Gallery Artists’ Membership Review – a review for new memberships is undertaken when a member leaves the gallery and a resulting opening occurs. This review process is undertaken as needed, to consider membership applications that have been received since the last review process. This review takes place during the gallery’s monthly membership meetings and over a two-month period. The first month involves a membership review and discussion of the applicant’s information and portfolio, while the second month involves an actual membership vote to determine memberships.
  3. Notification of Decision – once reviewed, an applicant will be informed of the decision of the membership regarding their application in a timely manner.   Newly accepted gallery members begin their full gallery member participation on the first day of the month following notification of acceptance.
